Cecil Jackson’s Bio

Cecil Jackson, Founder of Jackson Sports AcademyThe Jackson Sports Academy is a Washington Non Profit Corporation founded by Cecil Jackson.

Cecil is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and a 25 year military veteran who participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle.  His military honors include the Navy Commendation Medal, 6 Navy Achievement Medals, and 2 National Defense Medals; representing outstanding service to his country.

Cecil spent several years coaching military sports teams and eventually moved on to coach at the high school level in Washington State, where he coached varsity football, basketball, and track and field. He coached for many years and led teams to several conference titles, state playoff appearances, and a State Championship in basketball.

Cecil considers his experiences helping kids overcome struggles, either in the class room or in their personal lives, as his most important accomplishments as a coach.

Cecil believes in a positive environment where encouragement and inspiration are the key elements that motivate youth to make better decisions.   He also believes in keeping busy; using both the mind and the body to stay fit.

Cecil founded the Jackson Sports Academy as a reflection of his own life.  He was raised in a single parent household with six children, and times were tough.   Cecil’s experiences with the few sports camps he was able to attend, showed him how valuable those camps can be on a person’s later development.  Driven by the understanding that tough times still exist for a lot of families in America today, Cecil has taken on the challenge by President Obama; to go out and serve your communities.  To make a difference!
